A few weeks ago I was at the wedding of one of my best friends. I LOVE weddings and this one was even more special because it was a dear friend getting married, and I was there with a lot of my closest friends. You could sense the sacredness of the day, and with each moment you could feel in your bones that days like this one don’t come around often.
I know people say that life is short, but right now it seems like it’s pretty long, and there are a lot of days we get to live if we are blessed enough to live until old age. I believe that every day is important and presents an opportunity to live life intentionally, but there are without a doubt certain days in life that we will always remember. Days that are big and beautiful and point us more tangibly to how fantastic this life is.
That wedding day was one of those days for me. On days like that, we need to keep our eyes open and our minds set on what is in front of us. Hold on tight to your loved ones, pay attention to every moment and every conversation. We only get so many days that have the magnitude to pull us into something bigger, and we can’t miss it.
This is a short post, but I wanted to send a reminder to be aware of the sacred moments in your life. It’s amazing that we even get to be alive, and it can be easy to forget that sometimes. Big moments like weddings or the birth of a child can point us back to the fact that we are so blessed to get to share in this life with other people. Life is deep and full and unique, remind yourself of that.
